The Henri Delaunay Trophy, which will be awarded to the winner of the Euro 2012 football championships in July, was damaged when it was dropped during a recent Femen protest in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine, daily Hürriyet reported.

Protesters from the group removed their tops near the trophy, which had been on display for fans. Security immediately intervened, but the trophy was damaged after it was knocked down from its pedestal amid the commotion.

Women from the group were taken under custody.

Another Femen member made a similar stand against the cup while it was on display in Kiev but was restrained by security officials after she had tried to grab the cup topless.
