Famous actor and presenter Kenan Işık in intensive care

Kenan Işık is widely known as the presenter of the Turkish version of the TV show 'Who Wants to be A Millionaire?'

Famous actor Kenan Işık, widely known as the presenter of the Turkish version of the TV show “Who Wants to be A Millionaire?” has been in an intensive care unit since March 21 after he fell into a sauna of a hotel in Istanbul and suffered critical head injuries, including a cerebral hemorrhage. He underwent a three-and-a-half-hour operation at the American Hospital.

Işık’s brother Cengiz, who made a press statement in the hospital, said on March 23 that his life-threatening condition was improving. He said, “We are waiting for him to wake up. He rolls right and left, but he shouldn’t because it’s dangerous for blood to put pressure on his brain. His is slightly back to consciousness. I got in touch with him this morning. Please pray for him.”

Born in 1947, Işık became a professional actor at the age of 17. In 1972, he became an artist at one of the Turkish State Theaters. He wrote dozens of plays and put them onto the stage. He has received over 30 awards as an actor, writer, director and voice actor. He was general art director in City Theaters. He became known to a wider audience as the host of the Turkish version of the “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”
