Expo Turkey in Qatar to kick off on Jan 17

ISTANBUL

The second Expo Turkey held by the Qatar trade show will be held between Jan. 17 and Jan. 19 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.

The Independent Industrialist and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) is the main sponsor of the event, which aims at furthering commercial ties between Turkey and Qatar. The event is expected to serve as a platform for Turkish and Qatari firms to explore cooperation opportunities.

Around 150 Turkish companies, mainly from the construction, IT, food, machinery production and health services sectors, will attend the fair this year.

The purpose of Expo Turkey by Qatar is to turn Turkey and Qatar into a center of economic cooperation in the region. The fair has helped the two countries double up their trade volume and it also promotes Qatar as a gate to new investments by preparing ground for joint ventures.

Turkish Airlines, Sabah, TRT World, Wishne and emlaktasondakika.com are the other sponsors of the event.

Turkish firms Tekfen, Emlak Konut, Artaş İnşaat, Sinpaş GYO, Dido Group, Çilek Mobilya, Teknik Yapı, Tahincioğlu, Katmerciler, Türksat and Dome&Partners will attend the trade fair.
