Erdoğan hosts Koç family at presidential palace

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan hosted the top managers of Turkey’s largest business group, Koç Holding, at the presidential palace in Ankara on Feb. 25, as reported by Anadolu Agency. 

Erdoğan hosted Koç Holding Honorary President Rahmi Koç, Koç Holding Chairman Ömer M. Koç and the group’s vice chairman, Ali Koç, to offer his condolences for the sudden loss of Mustafa V. Koç, the former Koç Holding chairman who died of a heart attack on Jan. 21. 

Ömer Koç, the former vice president of the executive board at Koç Holding, was named on Feb. 22 the new chairman of the conglomerate until its first general meeting is held. 

Presidential sources noted Erdoğan wished success to Ömer M. Koç in his new position and offered get well soon wishes to Ali Koç, who broke his shoulder a couple of weeks ago. 

Erdoğan attended the funeral ceremony of Mustafa V. Koç on Jan. 24. 

The death of Mustafa Koç came as a shock across the country and among global investors.
