The Elgiz Museum collection prepares to receive an award.

The Elgiz Collection, a repository of works by influential Turkish and international artists, is being honored for its work with a prestigious award.

The award from the Friends of ARCO Madrid is given to the most relevant private and corporate collections every year for their devotion and commitment to contemporary art.

Representatives from the collection, which represents a wide range of progressive art in different media, will be given the award at the ARCO Madrid Fair in Madrid on Feb. 13.

The collection consists of works from influential Turkish and international artists, such as Ömer Uluç, Fahrelnissa Zeid, Abdurrahman Öztoprak, Tracey Emin, Jan Fabre, Barbara Kruger, Cindy Sherman, Andy Warhol, Julian Schnabel, Sol LeWitt, Peter Halley, Paul McCarthy, Gilbert&George, Robert Rauschenberg and Doug Aitken. The eclectic content of the collection allows the viewer to enjoy a comprehensive journey through the major contemporary art movements of the last two decades while promoting the globalization of Turkish art. With the integration of new works by young artists, the Elgiz Collection maintains its dynamism and prevalence.

The Elgiz Collection promotes Turkish and foreign masters and young artists and has a wide range of styles, kinds and materials. The bricolage nature of the collection displays conceptual and formal diversity to take the audience on a voyage through the last 30 years of leading contemporary art.
