Egypt guest country at Ankara Film

ANKARA
The 23rd Ankara International Film Festival will host Egypt as this year’s guest country. The festival, organized by the Mass Media Research Foundation, will hit screens between March 15 and 22.

The festival, which previously hosted films from Italy, Kazakhstan and Brazil, will present Egyptian cinema this year.

The Egyptian films that will be screened during the festival will be “18 Days,” “Asma’a,” “Cairo 678,” “Cairo Exit,” “Microphone” and “Tahrir 2011: The Good, the Bad and the Politician.”
This year the festival chose the theme of “uniformity,” because today’s world diminishes the dissimilarities of lives and minds in all areas.

The festival aims to call on the audience to think about how we are invaded by uniformity and its impact on us, emphasizing the similarities in our consumption patterns, entertainment, communication, creation and in our relationship to arts and culture.
