Doğan Holding honorary chairman Aydın Doğan denied reports claiming high-ranking figures of business and media circles had gathered in a mansion in Istanbul’s Beykoz to debate a new political roadmap.

Daily Akşam reported earlier in the day that high-level names met in secret to discuss the recent Gezi events and future possibilities.

Doğan however denied the claims hours later, calling daily Akşam’s report “imaginary.”

“Such a meeting never took place, and the report has nothing to do with reality. I have no idea what to say in the face of such a report which was clearly imagined by someone sitting at a desk,” Doğan said.

Şişli Mayor Mustafa Sarıgül and business leader Mustafa Koç were among the reported names included in the story, which claimed the meeting took place at former Deputy Prime Minister Hüsamettin Özkan’s house.

Özkan also quickly released a statement denying the report.
