Nine suspects who had been detained over suspected links to the Reina nightclub shooting, which claimed at least 39 lives, were arrested to face trial at an Istanbul court on Feb. 8, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

A tenth suspect was released under judicial restrictions.

The 10 suspects - mainly foreign nationals - had been referred to the Istanbul court earlier on Feb. 8.

The nine arrested suspects are accused of being members of an armed terror organization and of attempting to remove the constitutional order, the court stated.

At least 39 people, including a police officer, were killed when 34-year-old Uzbek citizen Abdulkadir Masharipov opened fire on New Year’s Eve revelers at the Reina nightclub in the Ortaköy neighborhood at about 1:15 a.m. on Jan. 1.

Masharipov was captured in the Esenyurt district of Istanbul late on Jan. 16 and his interrogation is still ongoing.

Four other people, including a man of Kyrgyz origin and three women, were also detained along with Masharipov.
