Court approves abortion for raped girl with disabilities

An Edirne court has granted permission to Z.K., a 14-year-old disabled girl, to conduct an abortion after she became pregnant through a sexual assault, CNNTürk has reported.
The parents of Z.K. learned that their daughter, who can neither hear nor speak, was 14 weeks pregnant on Sept. 3 after taking the girl to hospital following a nosebleed in the Thracian province of Edirne.
Police arrested seven suspects, including the girl’s brother, on charges of raping the girl after the incident was revealed.
The seven arrestees were sent to the Trakya University
Hospital for a DNA test following the court decision.
The girl and her three siblings have been taken under
legal protection.
