Condemned building withstands 300 kilograms of dynamite in Turkey’s Bursa

BURSA

A condemned building shocked onlookers when it withstood 300 kilograms of dynamite in Turkey’s northwestern Bursa province on March 1.

The 13-story building, which had hundreds of kilograms of explosives stacked in its first three floors, failed to collapse due to a problem with the chords extending to the explosives, Doğan News Agency has reported.

The second attempt was also unsuccessful.

Although the colossal structure, which belongs to the Social Security Council (SGK), was shrouded with smoke after the second attempt, the building remained standing.

The demolition was later postponed, the agency reported.
