Russian-Canadian musician Chinawoman will perform for her fans on May 3 at club Babylon. As the daughter of a Kirov ballerina and a Russian engineer, the artist grew up listening to her parents’ collection of Soviet and ‘70s European records in Toronto. Her debut album, “Party Girl,” was released in 2007. With endless melancholia, she released her second album “Show Me the Face” in 2010, winning broken hearts. Combining retro keyboards and synths with emotionally concentrated and romantic lyrics sung by her pure voice, Chinawoman can be both serious and sincere at the same time. Chinawoman has been compared with Nico, Leonard Cohen and Marc Almond.
