Chamber music festival to begin soon in Istanbul

ISTANBUL

The 5th International Opus Amadeus Chamber Music Festival will open with a performance by Hungarian baroque band Aura Musicale on Feb 12.

Istanbul’s only chamber music festival, the 5th International Opus Amadeus Chamber Music Festival, will be held between Feb. 11 and March 2, featuring selected works of baroque, classical, romantic and modern music. 

Hungarian baroque band Aura Musicale will give the opening concert of the festival at the Istanbul Naval Museum. The festival will continue with phago artist Berke Hitay and Friends playing on Feb. 17 at the Maltepe Municipality Türkan Saylan Culture Center, and the Collegium Musicum Den Haag Baroque band performing on Feb. 22 at the Istanbul Naval Museum. The festival will feature the Music for Peace concert on Feb. 25 at the Notre Dame de Sion French School Concert Hall, while the Bilkent Wind Trio will be on stage on Feb 28 at the Kadıköy Surp Levon Armenian Catholic Church. 

The closing concert of the event will be given by Camerata Istanbul Wind Quintet on March 2 at the Karaköy Aşkenazi Synagogue. Works by various composers such will be performed at the festival.
