Their zodiac boat crashed into rocks in the sea area between Leros and Leipsos, leaving a total of seven Turkish citizens injured, according to local media reports in Greece.

Noticed by those on another boat passing by, the couple were taken to a hospital in Leros.

Following the initial intervention, they were transported to Turgutreis Marina in nearby Turkish town of Bodrum via a sea ambulance.

Ali Sabancı, the owner of private Pegasus Airlines and a third-generation member of the wealthy Sabancı family, was admitted to the intensive care unit at a private hospital in Istanbul, his company Esas Holding confirmed.

Meanwhile, Vuslat Doğan Sabancı, former chairwoman of daily Hürriyet, suffered multiple fractures. She was also initially treated in Bodrum before being transferred to Istanbul for continued medical care.
