A British citizen handed over to Turkey the historical artifacts his father had acquired when working in Turkey.

Turkey’s Embassy in London said on Dec. 13, 2011, that Briton Dr. David Tomb served as the head of a group of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) experts at Turkey’s Middle East Technical University between 1963 and 1970.

Tombs’ son Sebastian Tombs returned to the Turkish Embassy in London the historical artifacts his father had acquired in the years he lived in Turkey.

Glasgow University’s archeology experts examined the artifacts and said the majority of them were in good condition.

Sixteen artifacts handed over to Turkey are thought to date back to the early Bronze Age.
The artifacts were sent to the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry and were later displayed at Ankara’s Anatolian Civilizations Museum.
