Blasts rock SE province as military convoy passes

A blast rocked Hakkari's Şemdinli district as a military convoy was passing between villages about twenty kilometers away from the town center, Doğan news agency reported.

Two more explosions followed the initial blast.

It is believed that members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) placed explosives on the highway an detonated tham as the military vehicles passed.
 
Two military helicopters were sent to the area immeadiately, the report said, while no official statement has been made about the incident.
