Ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) deputy Zeynep Armağan Uslu has topped a list for state spending for gasoline used in official vehicles, with over 30,000 Turkish Liras spent on her assigned car, daily Vatan reported.

Uslu, also the head of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), is assigned a red license-plated vehicle, of the kind given to international and educational commission heads.

The total gas cost for red-plated vehicles was nearly 454,000 liras last year, with Uslu's spending totalling 30,887 liras.

Gas spending data for official vehicles was released following a recent debate sparked by main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) deputy Mahmut Tanal.

The next-largest gas users on the list were Ziyaettin Akbulut of PAM and Education Commission head Nabi Avcı, with 25,400 and 24,600 liras spent on gas respectively.

The numbers also showed that Budget Commission Chariman Lütfü Elvan and Deputy Chairman S.Sadi Bilgiç's red licensed official vehicles cost the Turkish parliament a combined total of nearly 30,000 liras for gas.
