Abbas shares happiness over Turkish pilots' release with PM Erdoğan

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has talked with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan over the phone, expressing his happiness regarding the recent release of kidnapped Turkish pilots, according to diplomatic sources.

The pilots, who were abducted in Beirut two months ago, returned to Turkey on Oct. 19 after being handed over to Turkish authorities in Lebanon.

Abbas also informed Erdoğan about the ongoing peace talks between Israel and Palestine.
 
It was reported that Abbas and Erdoğan agreed to remain in contact about developments in the region in the upcoming period.
