As May Day was celebrated around Turkey yesterday, a media union held a demonstration for the two Turkish journalists missing in Syria for 53 days.

Turkish Journalists Hamit Coşkun and Adem Özköse have not been heard from since March 10, when they were preparing to shoot a documentary in northern Syria. Media-İş union members, along with Coşkun’s brother, Yahya Coşkun, attended the May Day event holding posters with photos of the missing journalists. Meanwhile, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Beşir Atalay visited yesterday Syrians staying in the southern province of Kilis after they fled ongoing violence in their country.
