Ten outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants were killed in a two-day operation in the Dağlıca district of the southeastern province of Hakkari and northern Iraq, the Turkish General Staff has announced.

Turkish warplanes hit mortar positions belonging to the PKK in rural Dağlıca on May 16 as simultaneous air operations continued for a second day in the region to destroy targets, the General Staff said in a statement.

Reconnaissance work is ongoing to determine the number of casualties in the raid, which was supported by multiple rocket launchers.

Seven PKK militants were later killed in a mountain hideout during another operation in Dağlıca on May 16, in addition to another three, including a sniper, who were killed in operations at another site in the region on May 17.

Equipment and weapons have also been seized by the authorities, according to the statement.
