Everton says defender Jospeh Yobo has joined Turkish club Fenerbahce on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Yobo, captain of the Nigerian national team, has spent the past two seasons on loan at the Turkish club. He says "it’s been a long journey into achieving this dream and now is the time to pay the club and fans back with a great performance."

He was Everton manager David Moyes’ first signing and played more than 250 matches for the club, his last in May 2010.

Yobo made 42 appearances for Fenerbahce last season, helping the club win the Turkish Cup and finish second in the Turkish league.
