Weakened league leader Galatasaray seeks relief in Alanya

Turkish Super League leader Galatasaray will take on Aytemiz Alanyaspor on Nov. 25, aiming to recover from its dramatic recent loss against its closest competitor, Medipol Başakşehir, which will face Kayserispor on Nov. 27.

Başakşehir stunned Galatasaray 5-1 at home last week, bringing it level on 26 points at the top of the standings.

Galatasaray will be missing the support of midfielder Sofiane Feghouli, who is serving a three-game suspension, and Fernando Reges, another midfielder who was booked last week.

The team has been through a busy week of meetings, with media outlets speculating that major changes are in the pipeline following the loss.

Beşiktaş, currently second in the league by two points, will tackle Yeni Malatyaspor on Nov. 25. The team should be confident after securing top spot in their Champions League Group, with a 1-1 home draw with Porto on Nov. 21.

On Nov. 26, Antalyaspor will take on Fenerbahçe, a title-contender in the making, while Trabzonspor plays Sivasspor.

Bursaspor is to challenge Karabük, and Kasımpaşa will face Kayserispor on the same day.

Veteran coach Abdullah Avcı’s Başakşehirspor will face a serious test in Kayserispor, which, like Beşiktaş, boasts 22 points in the league.
