A woman protesting Turkey’s 10 percent election threshold started a walk from Istanbul to the capital Ankara yesterday morning.

Aylin Kotil, who is a member of the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP), said she was planning to arrive at the Turkish Parliament in 22 days to meet with the spokespersons of the four political parties and hand them her manifesto to remove the election threshold.

A group of five people is accompanying Kotil for her logistical needs.

Kotil was in northwestern province of Bolu yesterday.
