VIDEO: 11-year-old released a day after murder A Turkish prosecutor has released an 11-year-old boy a day after he stabbed a 25-year-old man at his uncle’s shop in the central Anatolian province of Konya.

Ahmet Yıldırım, a 35-year-old snack bar owner, quarreled with porter Harun Ergül after the latter said he disliked the toasted sandwich he was served at the venue. Ergül returned with four of his relatives to continue the fight shortly after leaving the shop.

Seeing that his uncle was being beaten, 11-year-old M.C.Y. stabbed Ergül in the back. Ergül died at a nearby hospital despite all medical efforts.

According to eyewitnesses, Ergül’s relatives stormed the shop once again after the death and stabbed Adem Yıldırım, a nephew of the snack bar owner. Adem Yıldırım remains hospitalized, while the person who stabbed him is still being searched for by the police.

11-year-old M.C.Y. testified to the prosecutor in the presence of psychologists. Citing Turkish Penal Law, the prosecutor released the boy, stressing people under the age of 12-years-old have no criminal liability. M.C.Y. was handed over to his family.
