Along Selçuk Şamiloğlu in the picture, Hürriyet Daily News photographer Emrah Gürel and Reuters photojournalist Osman Orsal were also injured.

A veteran photojournalist of daily Hürriyet has been injured in the police’s raid against protesters in the afternoon. Selçuk Şamiloğlu was taken to the hospital with a bandage covering his head as he was hit by an unidentified object. His right finger was also fractured by an object that hit him while he was taking pictures.

Hürriyet Daily News photographer Emrah Gürel and Reuters photojournalist Osman Orsal were also injured in the leg during the morning clashes. BirGün journalist Ahmet Şık was taken to the hospital after he was truck in the head by an object.
