Van earthquake photos exhibited

“Earthquake: Van, Erciş and Social Aftershocks” displays photos taken by journalists and photographers in the region after the earthquake at the Çankaya Municipality Contemporary Arts Center in Ankara. 
The exhibition is sponsored by the Turkish Photography Federation (TFSF) and the Ankara Photographers Association (AFSAD). 
Federation Chairman Turgay Bilge said at the Dec. 20 opening the exhibit also commemorated journalists Cem Emir and Sebahattin Yılmaz, both killed in the quake, by dedicating a special section to them. 
Bilge highlighted the social dimension of the event, saying that more than 604 people died during two earthquakes in Van and 350,000 people fled the city. He said nearly 2,000 photos were evaluated and 110 works were included in the exhibit. 
The photos will remain on display in Ankara until Dec. 29.
