Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said he has worked with the President Abdullah Gül in harmony during his term at the Prime Ministry despite some “small problems,” speaking at private Kanal 24 channel on Aug. 4.

“We did not conflict with each other. We worked in harmony except for some small problems,” said Erdoğan.

“I did not have similar problems [that were experienced during former President Ahmet Necdet Sezer’s term] with Mr. Abdullah [Gül]. If something needed to be fixed [concerning our decisions], we discussed it and took steps,” said Erdoğan.

Erdoğan also said the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) leader and prime minister would be the same person if he is elected president in the August elections.

The prime minister also said they will continue working for the peace process regarding the Kurdish issue with determination after he is elected as president.

Erdoğan said he will hold seven more rallies until Aug. 10, election day. He will be in Aydın and Muğla on Aug. 6, in Malatya and Gaziantep on Aug. 7, in Kayseri and Ankara on Aug. 8 and in Konya on Aug. 9.
