Turkish Central Bank refutes media reports

ISTANBUL

The Turkish Central Bank has issued a statement refuting media reports that Governor Erdem Başçı admitted the political crisis has shattered the bank’s currency rate forecasts.

The statement released Feb. 15 said some media reports did not reflect the reality of what the governor said and urged the media to act more sensitively regarding such reports. Başçı gave a presentation at Parliament on Feb. 13.
