Turkish businessmen urge reconciliation in peace talks

ANKARA
The peace process aimed at ending terror and violence in Turkey should be carried out through the reconciliation of all political parties and social segments, Turkish Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (TÜSİAD) President Muharrem Yılmaz said yesterday, following talks with political leaders.

The new administrative board members of TÜSİAD, led by Yılmaz, held separate meetings with President Abdullah Gül, Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli.

Speaking to reporters following their meeting with Bahçeli, Yılmaz underlined that civil society had crucial role for achieving success throughout the democratization process. President Gül expressed his significant expectations from civil society in this regard, asking them to support the “resolution process” in the Kurdish issue, Yılmaz said.
