Turkey's private Yapı Kredi Bank and state-run Ziraat Bank posted high profits for 2012 Feb. 14.

Yapı Kredi said its 2012 net profits rose to 1.91 billion Turkish Liras ($1.08 billion) from 1.86 billion the previous year. It posted a fourth-quarter net profit of 512.5 million liras ($291 million).

Meanwhile Ziraat Bank announced that its net profits rose to 2.65 billion liras ($1.5 billion) in 2012 from 2.1 billion liras a year ago.
