Turkish army conducts drills on Syrian border

The Fifth Armored Brigade from the southeastern province of Gaziantep has been conducting military exercises along Turkey's border with Syria today.
Tanks supported by advanced armored personnel carriers participated in the maneuvers in the Öncüpınar border area in the southeastern province of Kilis.
The tanks taking part in the drill were armed and equipped with thermal night-vision systems. Mobile weapons platforms with Stinger anti-aircraft missile batteries mounted on their bodies were also present in the hour-long drill.
Military officials said such drills were taking place during both the day and the night.
