Turkish Airlines Cargo expands in Far East

Turkish Airlines Cargo grew nearly 50 percent in the Far East in the first 11 months, officials say. The firm has opened a base in Hong Kong to boost Asian business. DHA photo

Turkish Airlines Cargo has opened its Asia Far East cargo headquarters in Hong Kong in light of the airline’s increasing businesses presence in the Far East.

The headquarters is expected to coordinate sales and marketing to all flight destinations in the region as well as improving service quality and speed, according to an emailed company statement.

In the first 10 months of 2011, Turkish Airlines Cargo grew by 49.6 percent in the Far East region, said Turkish Airlines Cargo Head Abdullah Soner Akkurt in the statement.

“In the coming period we plan to increase our market share of cargo in this region. Our new Asia Far East cargo headquarters will play an important role to this end,” Akkurt said.
