Turkish Airlines begins flights to Edinburgh

Turkish Airlines expands its flight network with Edinburgh, Azerbaijan’s Ganja city.

Turkish Airlines began offering flights between Istanbul and the Scottish capital of Edinburgh yesterday.

The flights will operate four days a week. The first Turkish Airlines flight landed in Edinburgh yesterday and was welcomed by Alex Neil, the Scottish secretary for infrastructure & capital investment. Direct flights from Turkey are very important for Scotland, Neil said, adding that the flights would boost commerce and tourism between the two countries.

The flagship carrier is also set to start reciprocal flights this month to Ganja, Azerbaijan’s second-largest city. Turkish Airlines will fly to Ganja with connecting flights from Nakhchivan, an autonomous republic in Azerbaijan, starting July 31 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
