Turkey has a sincere interest in the African continent and will have a relationship based on the win-win principle with the Republic of Congo, President Abdullah Gül said.
“Turkey is really attaching great importance to Africa,” Gül said, speaking at a joint press conference following talks with President Denis Sassou Nguesso of the Republic of Congo.
The number of Turkey’s embassies in Africa will rise to 34 by the end of this year and Turkish Airlines has frequent flights to African cities, Gül said to demonstrate Turkey’s sincerity in its interest in Africa.
“I’m sure that this visit will yield concrete results,” the President said, adding that bilateral cooperation agreements signed during the visit, in fields such as agriculture, security, economy, science, the defense industry and transportation, displayed such concrete results.
“I express my pleasure over the fact that this visit will develop within the framework of the mutual ‘win-win’ principle for the peoples of the two countries,” he said.
