Troy to be promoted at Frankfurt Book Fair
With the launch of 2018 as the “Year of Troy” in honor of the 20th anniversary since the inclusion of the ancient city of Troy on UNESCO’s World Heritage List in the European Year of Cultural Heritage, events are being organized to promote Troy around the world. One of these promotional events will continue at the Frankfurt Book Fair, which takes place between Oct. 10 and Oct. 14.
Well-known Turkish historian and writer İlber Ortaylı will speak about Troy at the fair on Oct. 10 at 12 p.m.
On Oct. 13, the head of Troy excavations and the 2018 Year of Troy Executive Board member Professor Rüstem Aslan will hold a talk with the guests at the fair. He will provide information about the works carried out during the Year of Troy, the Museum of Troy, the archaeology village and the recent work on the ancient city of Troy.
