Trabzonspor is now the uncontested leader of Group J in Europa League after a comfortable 2-0 win over Legia Warsaw on Oct. 24 in a buoyant Avni Aker Stadium in Trabzon.

Summing 7 points in three games, the Black Sea side has considerable advantage over their rivals to be able to advance onto the next round. They are followed by Lazio with 5 points. The Romans who miraculously saved the draw in Trabzon two weeks ago, dropped another two points settling on a 0-0 result against Apollon Limassol. The Greek Cypriots are third with four points while the Poles are at the bottom of the table with 0 points.

Trabzonspor opened the score with an early goal when Marc Janko tenaciously maneuvered the ball to get within the net after his first shot bounced back from the keeper.

The Austrian striker, who had enjoyed few opportunities since joining the shores of the Black Sea, almost doubled the score in the 56th minute, but his shot hit the crossbar.

Trabzonspor still found a second goal in the 82nd minute by Olcan Adın, whose curly free kick seemed having been slightly tipped by defender Mustafa Yumlu.

Trabzon will travel to Poland in the next game scheduled on Nov. 7 while the Romans will be hosting Apollon Limassol in Italy.
