THY Teknik, Aselsan form alliance

Turkish Airlines’ service provider THY Teknik and Turkish military electronics specialist Aselsan have signed a memorandum of understanding for the integration of electronic systems into planes.Aselsan will collaborate with THY Teknik to enable the integration of electronic war, electronic intelligence and radar systems with the platforms, according to the press release sent by THY yesterday.
The joint study is aimed at better integration of defense systems into special duty air systems and reducing dependency on foreign manufacturers.
As the first project, Aselsan will use THY Teknik’s engineer force and technical infrastructure for integration of an electronic war system it will develop into air platform.
The companies also said they had reached a consensus to expand the collaboration into future aerospace projects.
