Three soldiers were killed in clashes with alleged members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the eastern province of Tunceli.

A clash erupted at around 2:30 a.m. today between security forces and PKK militants and still continue in the area, reports said.

A non-commissioned officer and two soldiers were killed in the clashes.

Helicopters failed to reach the clash zone due to heavy rain and fog. Ground reinforcements were sent to the area immediately.

Meanwhile, two police officers were wounded in an attack in the southeastern province of Şırnak yesterday night.
