Two policemen and one civilian were injured in a mine blast in the eastern province Van on the night of July 3. The blast happened while an armored vehicle was carrying police officers who were on duty at the Kapıköy border gate in Saray.

Commissar Melih Uğur Parlak, police officer Yunus Doğan, and revenue officer Nihat Gürsün, were injured as a result of the explosion.

They were immediately taken in ambulances to Yüzüncü Yıl University’s medical faculty research hospital, where they were given treatment.

A large scale operation has been started to find the terrorists, who escaped after the attack.

Meanwhile, 23 people were detained yesterday as part of the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) probe.

During the searches that were carried out, a number of documents and hard discs were seized and 23 people, including the Peace and Democracy (BDP) district chairman for the district of Dicle in Diyarbakır province, Cemal Sert, were taken into custody.

It is reported that questioning of the suspects is ongoing at the Diyarbakır Police Department.
