Syrian boy wandering on apron puts Istanbul airport on alarm

A 12-year-old Syrian boy who broke onto the apron of Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport was caught after being spotted by an airport security guard, daily Hürriyet reported on Feb. 18.

The wandering boy, whose identity has not been revealed, reportedly managed to jump over the fence to enter the apron before he put the airport on alarm.

Police officers arrived at the scene to bring the boy under protection after they were notified by airport personnel.

The flight schedule was reportedly unaffected by the incident.
