Soldier, police officer killed in Turkey’s southeast

One soldier and one police officer were killed on Feb. 18 in an armed attack by outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants in the İdil district of the southeastern province of Şırnak, the Turkish General Staff has stated.

The two men were heavily injured during ongoing operations in the district and later succumbed to their injuries at 1.05 p.m. despite all medical efforts, according to the General Staff statement.
