A Turkish shepherd was fined 1,000 Turkish Liras after he mistakenly crossed over into Bulgaria with his herd of sheep, Anatolia news agency has reported.

The shepherd crossed over the border while he was looking for his herd and was taken into custody by Bulgarian officials.

He was fined for "opposing the passport law."
