Seven killed in land fight between two families in Muş

Seven people were killed and nine others were wounded in a fight between two families over land in the eastern province of Muş today, Anadolu Agency has reported.

The deadly fight occurred between two families from the province’s Eskiyol village in the Bulanık district, local District Gov. Ferit Görükmez confirmed.

The Dost and Kundo families first started to fight with scythes and spades before resorting to guns, Doğan news agency reported. Two of the dead were from the Dost family, while the other four were from the Kundo family, according to reports.

Those wounded were hospitalized in hospitals in Muş and the neighboring province of Erzurum.

Gendarmerie forces have taken heavy security measures in the village amid an ongoing investigation.
