Sanatorium presents ‘Hyphologie’

Sanatorium presents ‘Hyphologie’ Sanatorium presents “Hyphologie,” a curated group exhibition featuring work from five French and four Turkish artists, running from Nov. 28 to Dec. 28.

Co-curated by Ludovic Bernhardt and François Ronsiaux, “Hyphologie” takes a critical approach toward the disrupted relationship between object and signifier in contemporary society and is an attempt by the curators to break down borders, both internal and external to Europe. As such, the work on display include a fictional map, a sterile white space, frozen international urban landscapes, national flags superposed against a monochrome background, a representation of fault lines in the earth, fluorescent lights, the packaging of medical supplies and a representation of a flat earth.

Internationally acclaimed French artists are presented alongside some of the most exciting young talent in Turkey for an international exhibition, whose scope reaches across a continent, and from the challenges of our present into the future of our shared semiotics. Work by several important Turkish and French artists will be presented in the exhibition.
