The ceiling of a train station in Russia's central coal producing region of Kemerovo collapsed on Sunday during repair work, killing at least one person and injuring 13, a news report said.

The station in the town of Belovo was operating when the repairs were being conducted, the Interfax news agency quoted a local emergencies ministry official as saying.

There was no immediate information about the severity of the injuries. Interfax said workers were still sifting through the rubble.
