Historic artifacts recently brought from Bulgaria by Culture and Tourism Minister Ertuğrul Günay will be displayed at the Edirne Archaeology and Ethnography Museum.

Following a collaboration to bring about the return of historic and cultural artifacts, Günay had brought 20 stolen ancient artifacts from Bulgaria, Edirne Provincial Culture and Tourism Director İrfan Özcan said.

“Our minister and the museum’s general director went to Bulgaria and brought nearly 20 artifacts, including the body of a marble woman sculpture as well as silver and bronze pieces,” Özcan said, adding the Culture and Tourism Ministry was working to bring more of such artifacts to the country.

Günay had made a gesture for Edirne and gifted those works to the Edirne Archaeology and Ethnography Museum, he said. Özcan wished the other 400 pieces of artifacts, which will later be brought from Bulgaria, could be displayed in Edirne, too.

Inventory work has already been done for the artifacts, Özcan said.
