Turkey’s ongoing Uludere debate has turned dirty with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan accusing an opposition MP of pursuing “necrophile” politics.

“They are dead-lovers, in other words, they need dead bodies for politics,” he said during an Istanbul
convention of his party. (Full report: Turkish PM slams opposition over Uludere politics)

Main opposition leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, meanwhile, questioned Erdoğan’s authority as the PM. “[Those who gave the orders for the strike overseas] have disregarded you as a PM,” he said. “They don’t put you in the position of being a human.” (Full report: CHP slams government over Uludere)

President Abdullah Gül and the defense minister, meanwhile, backed military officials who are under fire
for the strike, while Erdoğan said the state was doing everything to help those hit by the mistake. “A mistake that made us all sad occurred at Uludere,” he said, adding that probes are continuing on the issue. (Full report: President, government back army in raid saga)

This is one of his best lines and he is dead spot on. Kurdish politicians carry out their politics over the bodies of dead for decades. Who can deny it? Uludere was a mistake but these were criminals committing crimes in a war zone in the middle of the night. What apology? How is a PM responsible for any of this? TSK is responsible for protecting borders. Thats what they did. Period. Kilicdaroglu is really pathetic this time.

Adam not sure which country you're from but we Westerners re-elect the very same leaders under which civilans died. Yes there are some within our society that 'bark' and no one heeds us. No politician resigned EVER for crimes against civilians under the so called 'war against terror'. We refer to these as 'collateral damage'! Again please be consistent and honest. In Turkey all parties and socieity have condemned this misfortune in Uludere.

We are taught to criticise our leaders, institutions and state if they commit crimes against our citiziens or foreign citizens. We do not re-elect our administrators if they carry on their ill management habits.

Adam and Richard did any of your PMs or Presidents resign for the countless and frequent civilian killings in Iraq, Afghanistan? Spare us your hypocrisy - preach this to your leaders.

When you make a mistake, you have to pay for it. That is just a rule that must be known by all grown-up men! But you can also pretend you are NOT...
