Pregnant woman shoots self by accident, kills baby

A woman who was six months pregnant has reportedly lost her baby after accidently shooting herself in the stomach, daily Hürriyet has reported.
The woman, Handan E.B., was taken to hospital after paramedics arrived at the scene in Istanbul’s Ataşehir district following a phone call from an unidentified person that gave information about the wounded woman and her address.
The fetus could not be saved due to the mother's injures.
Handan E.B. said she threw the gun out of the window, but police have been unable to locate it.
Police launched an investigation into the incident after the woman’s father said her daughter had been seeing a man she met online.
