PKK raids construction site, kidnaps 11

Eleven drivers were kidnapped by suspected members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) from an earthworks site in the eastern province of Hakkari today.PKK militants came to the site, located 20 kilometers away from the center of Yüksekova district in Hakkari at around 4 p.m. today.
The militants set fire to 11 trucks and one construction vehicle which were being used in the construction of an airport in Hakkari and left on the back of a truck, taking 11 drivers that were present at the site with them.
Firefighters were dispatched to the area to put out the burning trucks, while an operation was launched to apprehend the culprits.
The PKK is recognized as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union.
