PKK blamed for fatal double shooting in Turkey's east

A Turkish police officer and a civilian were killed in a gun attack in the country's southeastern Diyarbakır province early July 30.Police officer Mehmet Uyar and Osman Caran were shot with a long-barreled weapon fired from a car while sitting in front of a tea house in the Çınar district, a police source told Anadolu Agency.
The attack is being blamed on the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) group.
A third man, İbrahim Turan, was injured and taken to Çınar Public Hospital for treatment before being transferred to Diyarbakır.
An investigation has been launched to find those responsible.
Turkey's military and police have been hit by a number of attacks over the past week following the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL)-linked suicide bombing in the Suruç district of Şanlıurfa, which killed 32 people on July 20.
