Turkish carpets color up landscape in southern town
Local carpet producers add color to the landscape of a town in the southern Turkish province of Antalya every summer. Click through for the story in photos...
Handmade carpets and rugs are aired on the ground, in the fields and on roads under the sunlight by locals in Antalya’s Döşemealtı district.
Their main aim is to make the brightly colored carpets fade to increase their price, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Sept. 7.
At the same time, they also believe the sunlight disinfects the carpets from bacteria.
